Fine Tune Your D2 – #EQE2025 – Wed 26 Feb 2025 – 1800-2100 (Zoom)
Your D2 preparation is more critical this year for passing #PaperD.
This year, D2 is 55 marks – 10 marks (and 40m) have been shifted this year from D1 to D2. So, to pass this year, you need to be able to use the extra 40m on D2 as effectively as possible. This course will improve your confidence, reduce your anxiety, and fine tune your D2 scoring efficiency.
D2 is my favorite part of the D exam, and being good at scoring on D2 helped me pass my own EQE. I have made the D Exam as an EQE benchmarker under true exam conditions for the last 10 years. I have taught the D2 methodology for more than 10 years, so I have a very good idea of the different styles of exam that you could face.
Most candidates who pass D are in the 45 to 60 mark range, so even 5 marks can make a huge difference. A lot of candidates mainly pass on D1 performance, but that will be harder this year. Fewer D1 questions also means that it is more likely that they will ask something that people don’t know well or cannot do quickly.
D2 takes some time to read and analyze, so you will typically start to score marks after about 1 hour. In addition, the comments at the end are normally related to the improvements made to the clients business, and there are a lot of marks available here.
The extra 40m is also an ideal opportunity for those with more practical experience to score more marks because no legal basis needs to be cited on D2, and D2 is directed to advising a client.
The course will be 3 hrs and recorded – I will give a short introduction to the steps I take, the mental approach and the things you should write down to score marks. I will go step-by-step through the reading and analysis part of a large 60 mark D2 exam. We can then discuss possible solutions, and then go through the model solution. You can also send me any questions all the way up to the exam.
It is close to the exam, but you should have already have attempted 2 or 3 D2’s, so we will not cover the basics. You should also much further with your legal study, so we will go through the legal issues much quicker.
I will send the D2 case beforehand so that you can prepare (if you have time, but that will not be essential).
The cost will be 150 EUR (ex-VAT).
